The Big 94 Celebrates 2nd Anniversary On The Air

It was November 8th 2020, when the new 146.940 repeater took to the air with a new Motorola repeater, a new high end controller, a new antenna, and a new call sign.

The former W2GBO repeater was christened K2RHI. Special thanks to Bob K2RHI for all his work building the new repeater and getting it on the air. Not to mention the on going maintenance.

That same evening a bunch of us got on the air and working together, launched this web site to go along with the new machine.

Over the past two years a wonderful amateur radio community has grown around the repeater. The repeater is home to The Commuter Assistant Network, with Jock Elliot KB2GOM (now over 20 years on the air) The weekly Trader Net hosted by Peter W2FW, and the machine serves as the flagship repeater for This Week in Amateur Radio News produced here in Albany, NY and heard around the world.

If by chance you find yourself in New York States capital region, give a shout on The Big 94, everyone would love to meet you.
